Puppy kisses, fresh sheets, finding five bucks in an old coat’s pocket — it’s important to appreciate the little things.
Add Handmade La Conner to the list.
Robyn and Tyler Moore started their company (formerly Pepperjack Home) with pure intentions: to make high-quality home and beauty products with locally sourced ingredients, free of fillers, parabens, phosphates, and other additives.
After falling in love with the sleepy town of La Conner, last year they pulled up stakes and moved from Arlington, opened a new retail location, and rebranded the company as Handmade La Conner. Inspired by the pair’s new life, the line is focused on simplicity, and the approach is understated, right down to the minimalist packaging.
We love the creamy lotion ball, a three-ounce sphere of shea butter, coconut oil, and beeswax that magically outlasts one of those supersize bottles from the grocery store. At the end of the day, we reach for the gentle makeup remover, which conditions skin with jojoba oil and vitamin E. And the machine-washable organic cotton and bamboo facial pads work better than cotton balls.
A hops-and-barley facial scrub and soaps in scents like oak moss and whiskey or spruce and cinnamon give guys a taste of the good life, too.
It’s not complicated.
