With sundress season lurking, you may fear that salad days are here again.
Jolene Hart makes eating greens more attractive.
As a beauty editor at InStyle, Hart had access to every product on the market. Know what else she had? Acne and eczema. She ditched pricey eye creams (and New York) to research ways to get her hormones and skin in check. Now the Philadelphia-based health and beauty coach shares her natural approach to improving appearances.
Get advice on why to skip cleanses (hint: fruit-packed juices have as much sugar as a can of soda and can speed aging) and which chemicals to stay away from. Plus, she walks you through what to pick up at the grocery throughout the year. Stumped on what to do with watercress? Find recipes that incorporate her produce picks into meals.
During the next few months, Hart recommends loading up on artichokes (which boost glutathione levels to keep your skin looking young) and incorporating peas to strengthen hair and nails. And add arugula; it has vitamin K to shoo away dark circles and detox your liver — which is exactly what you need after a winter’s worth of comfort food.
Tempted by the Easter Bunny? A few jelly beans won’t hurt, Hart says. Though her strawberry tart and roasted rhubarb may satisfy your need for sweets just as well.
