Konnichiwa: Chen was born in Japan, raised in Taiwan, and trained in London at the Royal College of Art (MA) and Central Saint Martins (BA). At 26, she’s the youngest on our list and has yet to launch her business, but we’d be sad to leave out her visual candy. Raceways, skaters, and the need for speed inspired her graduation collection last spring. Ironically, Chen’s aggressive, twisted, and manipulated leather jackets and track pants could stop traffic. Mad skillz.
Up Next: She’s fresh out of school, so we’ll give her a second to breathe. Whether she launches solo or signs on with a larger house, we’ll be watching.
