Screen Play: May’s Must-See Movies

Our 11 favorite films this month

The Great Gatsby

So what if it doesn’t live up to the novel? Baz Luhrmann’s ritzy rendition of the Fitzgerald classic is a grand vision sure to have Oscar rivals seeing green. Complete with a Jay-Z-produced sound track, Catherine Martin costumes, and an orgy (mhm), the roaring rollick of booze, high times, and low morals opens Cannes — five days after it hits the States.
It’s like: Junior English on absinthe.
Take: Anyone who’s anyone.
Premieres: May 10
